Programs that focus on nurturing families in the throes of treatment.
- "Footsteps Care Packages" -
a gift of understanding
that families who have been through the experience help us
define - a number of items are given to newly diagnosed families,
such as support literature, personal recorders, prepaid phone
cards, hospital meal tickets, prepaid parking passes, blank
journals, playing cards, personal items, and more.
- "The Hope Fund" - provides emergency
financial assistance to families in the throes of treatment.
. Regardless of the financial position at diagnosis,
the cost of treatment and rehabilitation can be devastating.
Even with insurance, the copays and out of pocket expenses
can mount beyond control.
- “The Phase One Fund” – provides financial assistance for unreimbursed expenses associated with Phase One Experiemental Trials – often the last chance for families.
- "Hope Hats" - are whimsical visors with adorable animal characters on them. We distribute these to children and siblings who are currently undergoing treatment.
- “Hope in a Jar” – the ultimate in comfort means we provide for all costs associated with a numbing cream for those children who are subjected to a seemingly endless number of pokes. The expense of this cream is not always covered by insurance or has a copayment, yet makes a huge difference in the experience of the child and family.
- "Chemo Wagons" - are modified wagons for the littlest of patients on the Oncology ward. These wagons are able to support the critical IV poles, allowing transport of the smallest patients outside their rooms, without much difficulty.
